Die VU+ Ultimo ist der neue Spitzenreceiver der Marke VU+. In der Ultimo können bis zu 3 Tuner verwendet werden. Alle 3 sind Plug&Play fähig, man kann so z.B. 3 Sat Tuner verbauen, oder einen Triple Tuner, also einen für DVB-S2, DVB-C und DVB-T. Ansonsten ist das Gerät größtenteils identisch mit seinen bekannten Vorgänger der Duo. Nur hat die Ultimo mehr Flash und Arbeitsspeicher.
Mit der Ultimo kann man HDTV und SDTV Programme und digitale Radio Sender anschauen / anhören und aufnehmen. Entweder auf eine interne Festplatte oder extern auf eine USB oder eSata Festplatte. Also Betriebssystem nutzt die VU+ Ultimo das bekannte System Linux. Für PayTV Funktionen gibt es 2 CI Slots und 2 Conax Kartenleser. An der Frontseite der VU+ Ultimo befindet sich ein grafisches Display welches Sendernamen, und weitere Infos anzeigt. Per Netzwerk oder Wlan können Sie auf die Box zugreifen oder TV und Radio Programme ins Netzwerk Streamen. Per Plugin Funktion kann die Box um nützliche Zusatzfunktionen wie Wetter, Programminfos, Internetradio Sender usw.. erweitert werden.
